About this tool

What Is the Instagram Reels Analyzer?

Enter an Instagram account and the Instagram Reels Analyzer collects its recent reels, then works out what's working: median and average plays, likes, comments and engagement, the breakouts that pulled at least twice the usual plays, the reel lengths and weekdays that do best, and how often the account posts. Every reel sits in the table with its caption, so you can see what the breakouts have in common.

Why the Median Matters

Reel plays are lopsided: one viral reel can pull ten times the plays of the rest and drag the average up with it. The median, the middle reel, is the honest picture of what a new reel will get. A breakout is any reel at twice the median or more.

Lengths and Weekdays

Reels are grouped by length and by the weekday they went up, and each group shows its median plays with the number of reels behind it. Treat a group of one or two reels as a hint, not a rule. Groups with several reels are where patterns hold.

Learning From Breakouts

Breakouts are highlighted in the chart and the table. Read their captions side by side: the hooks, topics and lengths that repeat across them are the account’s best formula.

Common Use Cases

  • Finding what works in a competitor's reels
  • Checking an influencer's typical reach before a deal
  • Picking the best length and day for your own reels
  • Tracking whether an account's reels are gaining or losing reach

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Instagram Reels Analyzer free?

Yes. It's free with a ProxyHorizon account, and every account gets 25 runs a day shared across all our data tools. You can read about the tool without signing in, but running it needs an account because each run fetches live data.

What counts as a play?

The play count Instagram shows publicly for each reel. Instagram counts every time a reel starts playing, replays included, so plays run higher than the number of people who watched.

Does it work with private accounts?

No. Only public accounts' reels can be read.

How many reels does it read?

The account's most recent reels, up to about 36. Accounts with fewer reels show all of them.

Do you store my results?

No. We log which tool you ran, what you entered and when, so we can apply the daily limit. Results aren't saved, so export them as CSV or JSON if you want to keep them.
