YouTube Search Analyzer
Who ranks for a YouTube search, and why
What Is the YouTube Search Analyzer?
Type what you'd search for on YouTube and the YouTube Search Analyzer reads the top 20 or 40 results in the order YouTube ranks them. For each video you get views, likes, comments, length, upload date and the size of the channel behind it. Then it shows what the results have in common: whether small channels can rank, which videos pulled more views than their channel has subscribers, how fresh the results are and the words their titles share.
Key Features
Can a Small Channel Rank Here?
The headline answer counts how many of the top results come from channels under 100,000 subscribers. When a good share do, YouTube is rewarding the video rather than the channel, and a new channel has a real shot. When every result comes from a big channel, you'll need a sharper angle or a less crowded search.
Breakout Videos
A video with more views than its channel has subscribers has traveled well past its existing audience. Those are the ones to study: their titles, thumbnails, lengths and the angle they took. The table flags them, and the views-by-position chart highlights them.
What the Top Results Share
The typical length, the age of the results and the words that repeat across titles show what viewers expect from this search. If most results are under a year old, the topic rewards fresh uploads. If the top five run longer than the rest, depth wins.
Common Use Cases
- Choosing video topics a new channel can rank for
- Studying what the top results do before you film
- Finding creators who rank for your keywords to partner with
- Watching how a search's results change over time
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the YouTube Search Analyzer free?
Yes. It's free with a ProxyHorizon account, and every account gets 25 runs a day shared across all our data tools. You can read about the tool without signing in, but running it needs an account because each run fetches live data.
Are these the results I see on YouTube?
They're YouTube's results for a signed-out visitor, with no personalization, so they can differ a little from what you see signed in. Shorts and live streams are left out.
What does views ÷ subs mean?
A video's views divided by its channel's subscribers. Over 1 means the video reached beyond the channel's audience, usually through search or recommendations.
How long does a run take?
Usually 30 to 90 seconds for 20 results and a little longer for 40, because each video's details are read too.
Do you store my results?
No. We log which tool you ran, what you entered and when, so we can apply the daily limit. Results aren't saved, so export them as CSV or JSON if you want to keep them.
