Mobile Website Screenshot
See any site on a phone, with mobile checks
What Is the Mobile Website Screenshot?
The Mobile Website Screenshot loads a page the way a phone does and captures it at iPhone, Pixel or iPad size in a device frame, as the first screen or the whole page. It also measures what makes a page hard to use on a phone: tap targets that are too small, text too small to read, content wider than the screen, pop-ups that cover it and images far bigger than they need to be.
Key Features
A Phone, Not a Narrow Window
Shrinking a desktop browser isn't the same as visiting on a phone. This tool loads the page in a mobile browser, so sites that serve phones different HTML or layouts show their mobile version, then captures it at the screen size of the device you pick, in a phone frame. Add the desktop capture to see both layouts side by side.
Checks Measured Inside the Page
The checks don't guess from the HTML. They run in the loaded page: every link, button and form field is measured against the 24-pixel minimum in WCAG 2.2, text is counted by size, anything wider than the screen is found, and fixed or sticky elements are measured for how much of the screen they cover. An overlay covering 30% or more gets flagged, since Google can treat pop-ups like that as intrusive.
Reading the Tap Target Count
Small text links in paragraphs and lists are common and often pass WCAG on spacing alone, so a few small targets is a warning, not a failure. It becomes a failure when more than 30% of the page's targets are under 24 pixels. The table lists the smallest ones, so you can tell real problems like icon buttons from harmless inline links.
Common Use Cases
- Checking a page on phones before a launch or campaign
- Showing a client or developer exactly what breaks on mobile
- Capturing a competitor's mobile page for a review
- Finding the element that makes a page scroll sideways
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Mobile Website Screenshot free?
Yes. It's free with a ProxyHorizon account, and every account gets 25 runs a day shared across all our data tools. You can read about the tool without signing in, but running it needs an account because each run fetches live data.
Does the device I pick change the checks?
No, only the screenshot. The checks run in a mobile browser about 360 pixels wide, a common Android width and narrower than any of the four devices, and the result says the exact width measured.
Is this the same as a mobile-friendly test?
It covers what Google's Mobile-Friendly Test checked before Google retired it in 2023: the viewport, text size, tap targets and content wider than the screen. It adds overlays, pinch-zoom, oversized images and a real screenshot.
Do you store the screenshots?
No. The image links work for about 24 hours, so download any you want to keep. We log which tool you ran, what you entered and when, to apply the daily limit.
